Our craftsmen and artisans take pride and confidence in their work

Pride Cast Metals was created in 1983, when the foundry was purchased from the Dover Corporation under the leadership of Thomas Hamm and Kenneth Bechtol. Hamm and Bechtol, along with several other employees of the foundry, confidently and enthusiastically pooled their talents and arranged to purchase the foundry assets.

The company was immediately and appropriately named "Pride" Cast Metals, Inc. This name stands as an enduring statement of the pride and confidence the individual foundry craftsmen and artisans had then, and have today, in the quality of their work.

Our roots are deep. Our experience began more than 100 years ago and is a dramatic story of success, growth, and dedication.

Ohio Pattern Works
The original foundry was founded in 1892 under the name Ohio Pattern Works. In 1904, the foundry began concentrating its efforts on a very significant emerging industry: petroleum equipment. This new focus gave rise to a new and expanded manufacturing complex and foundry techniques which offered brass and aluminum capabilities. The company continued to thrive and remained economically strong through the depression years.

From 1930 to 1983, the company was sold and renamed several times. In 1930, the company changed its name to The Ohio Pattern Works and Foundry Company in order to promote its foundry expertise, as well as its pattern making capabilities. Then, in 1948, the company was sold and renamed, OPW Corporation. In 1961, the company was purchased by Dover Corporation and in 1983, the foundry was sold and renamed to Pride Cast Metals, Inc.

Pride, Growth, and Prosperity
Through the diversification of its metal casting services and capabilities, Pride Cast Metals has become more than just a supplier of castings. Beginning in 1983 with less than 35 employees, today the company has grown to over 140 full-time employees. We are a value-added "total quality" supplier capable of producing high quality and economical turn-key castings from start to finish.

From casting sand analysis and chemical analysis through quality control and testing of the complete machined and assembled casting, Pride Cast Metals offers its customers services that extend well beyond the scope of a typical foundry. Pride Cast Metals represents a totally new concept in the metalcasting industry.
